BERNE — Greg A. Stempel, a hard-working arborist, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 25, 2018, at home with his loving wife, Tammy, by his side. Greg “Stewie” Allen was 56 years old.

An Independence Day motorcycle ride in the Hilltowns for a young and “highly regarded” Albany Police officer ended with a fatal crash.

On opening weekend of June 24th, the Foxenkill tavern reopens in Berne.

On Wednesday June 27, Don and Sue Brittion donated a set of pet masks to three hilltown fire departments.

The shared decision-making teams that will discuss the district code of conduct are scheduled to meet on July 20 and July 30.

Graduates of Berne-Knox-Westerlo Class left their commencement ceremony with memories of service to others, and of the communities that brought them this far.

Marissa N. Parker, 18, died unexpectedly in her home on Sunday, July 1, 2018, where she lived with her mother, Heather Schwenk; her stepfather, Steven Schwenk; her sister McKenzie Schwenk; and her brother, Gavin Schwenk. Her sister Courtney Worrock resides in North Carolina.

RENSSELAERVILLE — The Rensselaerville Presbyterian Church announces its schedule of summer services every Sunday from July 1 through Sept. 2.  Services are held at 11 a.m. in the church located on Main Street (Route 351) in Rensselaerville. Everyone is welcome.
