Last Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 6 through Nov. 8, Guilderland-Voorheesville and Bethlehem swim squads took to the pool at Shenendehowa to look to qualify for the state competition on Nov. 21 to 22 at Webster High School in Rochester.
On Saturday, Nov. 8, Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Bethlehem, Guilderland, and Voorheesville cross-country teams battled it out against the other Section 2 teams to compete for team titles and to qualify for state competition on Saturday.
On Saturday, Nov. 8, the Guilderland Dutchmen boys’ soccer team, the Section 2 champs in Class AAA, traveled to Waverly, Section 3, to battle Elmira for a trip to Saturday’s state championship.
On Friday, Nov. 7, the top-seeded Bethlehem Eagles took to the court at Saratoga High School as they took on second-seeded Columbia. The Blue Devils defense stymied the Eagles as they fell 13-25, 23-25, 25-19.
Last Thursday, Nov. 6, the Voorheesville football team traveled to Watervliet, where they started their season, to play in the last game of the year in a cross-over matchup and their head coach Joe Sapineza’s final game.
On Saturday, Nov. 1, the sixth-seeded Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg soccer squad was on the pitch against top-seeded Maple Hill in the Section 2, Class C sectional final. The Beagles tried to break through the tough Wildcats defense but couldn’t as they fell 2-0.
