On Friday, Aug. 29, the defending Section 2, Class A champs, the Guilderland Dutchmen, opened up their 2025 season taking on Columbia. From the opening whistle, the Dutch didn’t miss a step as they won 8-to-0.
On Tuesday, Sept. 2, the Guilderland girls’ soccer squad opened up their season on the road at Colonie High School as they took on the Wolfpack. The Dutch have a new captain in Josh Binfield. The team was playing hard from the start and the Dutch won, 4 to 1.
Last Thursday, Aug. 28, the Voorheesville girls’ soccer squad kicked off their season on the road as they took on Albany Academy for girls. The Blackbirds dominated the time of possession as they went on to win, 3 to 0.
Last Wednesday, Aug. 27, Guilderland and Bethlehem boys’ golf teams battled it out on the course at Western Turnpike Golf Course in Guilderland. The Eagles used one last flap of their wings to get past the Dutch, 150 to 154.
On Tuesday, Aug. 26, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo boys’ golf team traveled to Pioneer Hills Golf course in Galway to take on the Golden Eagles. The Bulldogs won 13-to-2.
On Monday, Aug. 25, the Voorheesville boys’ golf team opened up their season against La Salle at Frear Park Golf Course. The Blackbirds fell, 155 to 172.
