The complaint criticizes the Knox Town Board over what is described as a lack of transparency before voting to send a proposed multi-use district to the town and county planning boards.

On Tuesday, Aug. 21, The Old Men of the Mountain met for the last time at Kim’s West Winds Diner in Preston Hollow. Kim is closing the doors for good on Sept. 2.

The Berne-Knox-Westerlo school district is scheduled to have its $20 million capital project completed in 2020. The changes will include new rooms and a design recalling the building’s original look.

BERNE — The school district here has hired three speech pathologists of its own rather than using the service it had relied on for 15 years.

At the same time, the school board has accepted the resignation of the specialist it hired less than six months ago to integrate technology into the curriculum.

Lyndon ‘Mike’ Leonard

EAST BERNE — Lyndon “Mike” Leonard, a longtime Berne-Knox-Westerlo teacher and well-known archer, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018. He was 70.

He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on Jan. 26, 1948. He graduated from Monadnock High School in Swanzey, New Hampshire in 1966.

On Tuesday, Aug. 14, the Old Men of the Mountain left the comfort of their homes and took off on another wild adventure; this time, it was to the Home Front Café in Altamont.

On Sunday in Rensselaerville, at least 70 bikers took to the hills on a leisurely bike ride through four different distances.

Gerald Cross is being honored by New York State for his service as an emergency medical technician for over 50 years at Helderberg Ambulance.

Locals in and around Rensselaerville have gathered to raise money to help a “warrior princess” fight a brain tumor.
