KNOX — On his 55th birthday, Aug. 27, Gary Salisbury quit his job as the Knox highway superintendent.

“It was because of the politics,” he told The Enterprise on Sunday. “The last couple of years were really tough … I cannot take the disrespect.”

On Wednesday morning, the kids of the Hilltowns arrived at the Berne-Knox-Westerlo primary and secondary schools to start off the 2019-2020 school year.

The Old Men of the Mountain traveled to Gracie’s Restaurant in Voorheesville on Tuesday, Aug. 27. This is the old Voorheesville Diner, which was taken to the ground and rebuilt.

Helderberg Senior Services offers a lunch program for seniors. Everyone aged 60 and older is welcome.

“You wouldn’t go to court without a lawyer,” Ned Stevens told the Westerlo Town Board as it debated hiring a consultant to help develop its comprehensive plan.

The Westerlo Rural Cemetery may soon offer “green burials.”

Documents released on June 6 from Albany County in response to a county judge’s order include a list of documents in possession of the sheriff’s office with statements as to why the items may or may not be withheld.
