RENSSELAERVILLE — A single-car crash in Rensselaerville early Sunday morning has left one Middleburgh young woman dead and another injured, according to a report from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.

This year’s Agriculture Fair at Berne-Knox-Westerlo included a menagerie of animals, many of whom were brought by BKW students.

Resolve that this is not the end of an era of excellent care in the Hilltowns. Berne must find an independent doctor who cares.

Sue Hoadley, Westerlo’s library manager, has had many jobs in her life, but a love of research drew her to be a librarian. She will retire from her post this summer.

BERNE — The Albany County Department of Public Works announced on Friday evening that, effective immediately, cars and trucks with weights exceeding 10 tons are prohibited from traveling on County Route 6 (Ravine Road) over the White Birch Pond Outlet, which is 200 feet south of Partridge Run Road in the Town of Berne.

Acting Supervisor William Bichteman said he thought it was inappropriate to include Westerlo’s town seal in campaigning materials because it could be misleading. Trademarking town seals is not allowed and so the use of it by other entities is allowed.
