The new Hannay Room looks into the main Westerlo Library.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Friday at the Westerlo Public Library as we cut the ribbon to open the Hannay Room, our new library program and community meeting room.

A special thanks goes to the many local businesses that donated food and drink and to the First Baptist Church for providing parking.

In conjunction with the opening of the Hannay Community Room, the library is hosting an exhibition of 17 artists from Westerlo and neighboring towns. Their works range from drawing to watercolor to sculpture, and highlight the creative talent that exists in our own backyard. Many of the works on display illustrate local scenes that will be familiar to visitors of the exhibit.

The show will be at the library through the end of June and can be seen during regular library hours.   Most works are available for purchase. Our thanks to Peter Keitel, president of the Bethlehem Art Association, for curating the exhibit.

Thanks!

Thank you for supporting this year’s Book & Bake Sale. We couldn’t do it without the support of our community.

When you support this sale or allow us to “keep the change” when paying for copies, it makes a real difference. But there would be no bake sale without our friends (including staff and trustees!) baking and manning the tables all day Saturday. Thank you!

The app’s features include the ability to search the catalog; check the status of a library card account; place physical items (such as books, CDs and DVDs) on hold so they can be picked up at the library; discover and access digitally distributed items like ebooks, audiobooks, and digital magazines; and connect to other information such as library hours and program calendars.

UHLS Mobile is available free in both Android (Google Play) and Apple (iTunes) app stores.  For more information or to try the app out, visit uhls.boopsie.com.
