BETHLEHEM — A detached garage at the rear of 202 Glenmont Road was “fully involved” on Sunday at 2:42 p.m. after Bethlehem Police received a report of the structure fire.
Residents were able to leave their home without injury, according to a Sunday evening release from the Bethlehem Police Department.
BETHLEHEM — An unnamed juvenile has been charged with arson and criminal mischief — both felonies — after starting a fire on Monday at 45 Beacon Road in Glenmont, police say.
BETHLEHEM — A family who lived at 485 Dawson Rd. in Bethlehem was displaced when their home caught fire on Monday Dec. 27.
The fire was reported by a motorist who “flagged down” a Bethlehem Police officer, alerting him to the fire at 6:43 a.m., according to a release from the police department.
BETHLEHEM — On Friday, a house fire took the life of a Bethlehem resident.
An autopsy was completed on Monday morning and the deceased occupant was identified as Michael F. Jeram, age 65. The cause of the fire was ruled not suspicious, according to a release from the Bethlehem Police.
GUILDERLAND — On Saturday, March 13, a fire in the west wing of Guilderland High School was contained in an art computer laboratory with some smoke damage nearby.
“We’re 100-percent volunteer so most of us had to get home and get to work … You have to return to normalcy after helping a neighbor out all night long.”
ALBANY COUNTY — Jacob “Jake” Houck, with the Onesquethaw Volunteer Fire Company, and Gerald E. Paris Jr., Albany County’s fire coordinator, were each recently honored as Firefighter of the Year by the Albany County Volunteer Firefighters’ Association.
