Juvenile charged with arson after exiting burning house, police say

BETHLEHEM — An unnamed juvenile has been charged with arson and criminal mischief — both felonies — after starting a fire on Monday at 45 Beacon Road in Glenmont, police say.
Bethlehem Police received a report of the fire at 11:45 a.m. on June 6 and found the home was occupied by the juvenile who was able to safely get out, according to a release from the department.

Bethlehem detectives and fire investigators determined the fire was started intentionally, the release said, but no further details are being released because the investigation is ongoing.

The single-family ranch at 45 Beacon Road was assessed at $158,925 in 2021 and, according to the town of Bethlehem’s tentative rolls for 2022, has a full-market value of $171,860. The property’s owner is listed as Brian Widelski.
