On Saturday, Sept. 8, the Hilltown Seniors gathered for another meeting where we all enjoyed the fall decorations the kitchen committee had displayed on the tables.

On Tuesday, Sept. 4, the Old Men of the Mountain gathered at Mrs. K’s Restaurant in Middleburgh.

A headstone was found behind a beauty salon in Guilderland. It took half a dozen people to return it to the Westerlo cemetery where it had been missing for decades.

NORTH GREENBUSH — Alice A. Fisher — a brilliant teacher and a devout woman of faith — died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018. She was 61.

Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late John and Jane Doughney. Her beloved husband of 32 years, Robert (Bob) Fisher, died before her.

The driver, who was surrounded by both full and empty beer cans at the crash site, was charged with driving while intoxicated. Police are pursuing further criminal charges while investigating the crash that killed a Berne woman.

Members of the South Westerlo Business Association met with Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy last Thursday.
