ALBANY COUNTY — Several local groups are receiving funds as part of Round XIII of the Regional Economic Development Council Initiative, which is dispensing over $23 million to support 101 communities statewide.

BETHLEHEM — A drone on Thursday, Oct. 12, flew over several public schools in town — Slingerlands Elementary, Eagle Elementary, and the Bethlehem Central High School — causing reports to the police.

BETHLEHEM — Betsy M. Jablonski, 39, of Delanson, was charged with four felonies after, police say, she stole a car from a person at the CVS in Delmar and then fled police.

Jablonski had six active warrants at the time of her arrest on Oct. 27.

Starting on Oct. 31, alternating one-way traffic will be in effect on Route 85 between Kenwood Avenue and Mullens Road as new sidewalk railing is installed underneath the bridge.

BETHLEHEM — A request made on Tuesday by Child Protective Services to check on the welfare of a child in Selkirk led to the Thursday arrest of a woman on gun charges, according to a release from Bethlehem Police.

BETHLEHEM — A Rensselaer man on parole was charged on Sept. 14 with burglarizing two Chinese restaurants in Delmar a month ago.

The county announced on Thursday, Sept. 7, that Route 85 would reopen to traffic in both directions on Friday afternoon.

ALBANY COUNTY — On Friday afternoon, traffic is expected to flow in both directions on Route 85 in Slingerlands after having been closed for a failed bridge-replacement project.

BETHLEHEM — Two men — one homeless and the other from Albany — tried to steal an automated teller machine from Jim’s Tastee Freez at 58 Delaware Ave. in Delmar, according to a release from the Bethlehem Police.
