BETHLEHEM — Residents escaped uninjured on Tuesday evening from a fire at 7 Eastmount Drive in Slingerlands.

Smoke was coming from the apartment complex off of Blessing Road when police arrived after receiving a report of a structure fire at 6:05 p.m., according to a release from Bethlehem Police.

GLENMONT — On Oct. 30, after a Glenmont man pointed a loaded pistol at a man delivering newspapers, the home of the gunman was searched, where police found money, drugs, and a stolen gun, according to a release from Bethlehem Police.

The town of Bethlehem reports getting calls from residents about a “musty smell” to their tap water.

In response, the town put out a notice, saying the water is safe to drink and explaining the reason for the odor.

BETHLEHEM — A 13-year-old from Albany has been charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony, after, police say, a bomb threat was called into Bethlehem High School on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 2:38 p.m.

The juvenile, whose name is not being released, was also charged with second-degree harassment, a misdemeanor.

BETHLEHEM — Bethlehem Senior Projects is hosting its inaugural pickleball tournament on Oct. 5, showcasing the town's newly constructed pickleball courts while raising funds for services and transportation for the town’s elderly residents.

More than 150 players will compete at the Elm Avenue Park courts.

BETHLEHEM — A 37-year-old man was killed early Wednesday morning when his car crashed into a utility pole on Krumkill Road, according to a release from the Bethlehem Police.

BETHLEHEM — After a week of increased police presence and anxiety in Bethlehem schools because of unfounded phone threats, Police Chief Gina Cocchiara announced on Tuesday that, in partnership with the FBI, her department has determined “there is no imminent threat to Bethlehem schools.”

BETHLEHEM — A woman has been charged with driving while impaired by drugs after she drove over double yellow center lines and crashed into another car, killing that driver, according to Bethlehem Police.

Police responded to the two-car crash near 1463 River Road in Selkirk at about 5:20 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.
