On Thursday afternoon, the Guilderland Dutchmen girls' lacrosse team battled Shenendehowa for the Class A sectional final in the rain at Mohonasen High School. The Dutch made the sectional final 13-years straight and won the title 9-8 in overtime.

Nicole Van Oort, a Guilderland High School graduate, has been selected for an honors rowing team in college.

Guilderland High School hosted three different sectional games all in one day —outdoor track and both boys and girls lacrosse. So whatever you wanted to watch, you could see it on Tuesday afternoon.

The run for a title for the Voorheesville Blackbirds ended Saturday afternoon in the Class B sectional semifinal in Johnstown. The Blackbirds lost to Albany Academy, 5 to 0, without one hit. It was a perfect game for the Cadets; the ball never left the infield.

The Voorheesville Blackbirds faced Ichabod Crane in the Class B quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon in Valatie. The sixth-seeded Blackbirds upset the third-seed Riders 6-4 to play Saturday in Johnstown at 1 p.m. against Albany Academy.

Sectional playoffs have begun and the Colonial Council Patriot Division champions, the Voorheesville Blackbirds, started the journey towards winning another sectional championship on Tuesday afternoon at home against Catskill.

The Guilderland Dutch Unified basketball team took to the floor last Thursday afternoon in their first game at home against Mohonasen.

On a chilly and windy last Thursday, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs baseball team took on Fonda-Fultonville at home in a Western Athletic Conference battle. The Bulldogs had a lead going into the fifth inning, which saw the Braves come all the way back and win, 11 to 10.

On a warm and breezy Saturday, the Guilderland boys’ and girls’ outdoor track team took part in the 52nd annual Colonie Relays held at Colonie High School. The girls’ team won with a score of 117 while the boys’ team finished in fourth place with a score of 73.

With the season winding down and the games becoming more important to make a push for a good seed in sectionals, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs girls’ softball team and the Voorheesville boys’ baseball look to help their cause. The Bulldogs lost, 5 to 2, to Oppenheim-Ephratah-St.

In another hard-fought matchup between long-time lacrosse rivals, the Guilderland Dutchmen lost to the Niskayuna Silver Warriors — again. Last Thursday afternoon at home, the Dutch fell, 16 to 8.

The Voorheesville Blackbirds had a tough time against the Lansingburgh Knights on Monday afternoon at Lansingburgh High School in a Colonial Council matchup. The Blackbirds are 1-3 on the year after losing, 6 to 0, on Monday, April 26.
