With the season winding down and the games becoming more important to make a push for a good seed in sectionals, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs girls’ softball team and the Voorheesville boys’ baseball look to help their cause. The Bulldogs lost, 5 to 2, to Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville on Monday afternoon, pushing their record to 1 and 8. The Blackbirds lost to Lasalle, 10 to 1, with a record of 8 and 7.

Making the pitch: Voorheesville starting pitcher Pat Foley throws the ball toward the plate during the first inning of the Blackbirds’ 10-to-1 loss last Friday at home against Lasalle. Foley went three-and-two-thirds innings. giving up nine runs, eight of them earned on five hits with three strikeouts.
