The Guilderville girls’ swim team sent eight athletes to Ithaca College to compete in the New York State swimming and diving championships last weekend, Nov. 18 and 19.

Racing against the top runners in the state last Saturday, November 12, at Chenango Valley State Park in Fenton, New York, Guilderland and Voorheesville cross-country runners attempted to win state titles.

On Tuesday afternoon, seven Guilderland seniors sign their letters of intent to play college sports next year.

The Guilderville girls swim team took home two Section 2 champion titles at sectionals at Shenendehowa last week, and sending 8 to the state competition.

The race will start at 9 a.m. at the Altamont Elementary School in Grand Street in the village.

The emotions were running high for the Guilderland Dutchmen and the Voorheesville Blackbirds last weekend, in their sectional semifinals.

The chilly weather didn’t keep the Guilderland and Voorheesville boys’ soccer teams from bringing their best to the pitch in the Class AA sectional semifinal, October 28, and Class B sectional final, October 29.

The Voorheesville Blackbirds girls volleyball team battled Lake George in a five-set match in the Class C sectional semifinal on Wednesday Nov. 2.
