Run Off That Turkey Trot set for Nov. 26

ALTAMONT — The ninth annual Run Off That Turkey Trot 5K and Two-Mile Community Walk will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, to benefit the Helderberg Running Club Junior Olympic Team.

The race will start at 9 a.m. at the Altamont Elementary School in Grand Street in the village.

Phil Carducci is the race director. The course is certified by USA Track and Field.

Registration on the day of the race costs $25. Those who register ahead — online at https://www.zippyreg.com/online_reg/registration.php?eventID=803 — pay $18, or, if they are 70 or older, $15.

Awards will be given in categories divided by age and gender. Running gloves will be given to all who register ahead. The event will feature door prizes and refreshments.

Participants are asked to bring an unexpired dry-good item — paper or food — for the needy.
