On May 1, the Altamont Train Station Quilters will give a cache of hand-sewn quilts — ranging in size from infant to teen — to the Center for Donation and Transplant New York Chapter for its Comfort Blanket project.

VOORHEESVILLE — The First United Methodist Church in Voorheesville invites all to come for a free lunch on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, from noon to 1 p.m.

There are no take-outs; diners will eat their lunches in the church hall.

The Sarcoma Strong 5K Run/Walk to benefit sarcoma research will take place Saturday, Aug. 19, at 9 a.m. at the University of Albany.

WESTERLO — The town is hosting a Summer Recreation Program at the Westerlo Town Park for the week of July 31 through Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon. All children entering first through sixth grade, and who reside within the town of Westerlo, are eligible to attend.

KNOX — A Dog Day Celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, rain or shine, at the Knox Town Park, behind the town hall, on the Berne-Altamont Road.

Watch a mystery unfold at the Altamont Reformed Church. The adventure takes place during a dessert theater production of “Alibis” on Saturday, May 20, at 7:30 p.m. at 129 Lincoln Ave. Altamont.

The first night of dress rehearsals for the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Theatre Troupe’s production of “The Music Man,” saw a flurry of preparation both onstage and off. The show opens Friday night.
