GUILDERLAND — More than two years after the Guilderland School District, faced with declining enrollment, sought ways to contend with empty classrooms, the school board Tuesday agreed to a contract with Victory Child Care.

Songs and senses are all part of learning at Victory Child Care, a private program based in Albany that will occupy six Guilderland school classrooms come fall.

GUILDERLAND — In September, ninety 3- and 4-year-olds are expected to attend pre-kindergarten in Victory Child Care classes housed in Guilderland schools.

GUILDERLAND — Police last week arrested a Guilderland High School student for cyberbullying an autistic schoolmate, Austin Carter. The unnamed 15-year-old was arrested for aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor.

Students demonstrated and investigated the more visual properties of some scientific phenomena.

As nine state challenge federal directives to provide “a safe environment” for transgender students, local districts have been quietly doing just that.

GUILDERLAND — Incumbents Barbara Fraterrigo and Gloria Towle-Hilt are running again for the Guilderland School Board. They are joined by newcomer Teresa Gitto.

Colleen O’Connell is not seeking a fifth term.

The three-year terms on the nine-member board are at-large and unpaid.

The 48-year-old has worked in childcare for 30 years, according to the Guilderland Police.
