BETHLEHEM — A math teacher at Bethlehem Central High School, Michael E. Fredette, was charged on March 14 with stalking a former student, now 19.

GUILDERLAND — The 17-year-old from Colonie who was charged with menacing after, police say, he displayed a gun on Feb. 16 in the Crossgates Mall parking lot, pleaded not guilty in Guilderland Town Court on Feb. 27.

A domestic assault that sent a 28-year-old woman to the hospital was stopped after the woman used an emergency-call feature to notify police during the attack, according to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.

Benjamin Rauf pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection to the death of his former fellow law-school student, who was found shot to death in his car in Delaware almost four years ago.

Carlos Quinones, 16 at the time, was also arrested on Oct. 1, 2018 on rape and other felony charges. The date of his earlier arrest is the same day that Raise the Age legislation went into effect in New York State, making it possible for many 16-year-old defendants to have their cases heard in Family Court. Raise the Age did not apply to Quinones' case for several reasons, said Cecilia Walsh of the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

John E. McIntyre has been arrested for again contacting the same teenager he had contacted for sex in October, police say.

GUILDERLAND — A single-family home in the 3300 block of East Lydius Street was burglarized in the the early morning hours of Feb. 8, between 12: 30 and 5:30 a.m., while the residents were at home, according to Deputy Chief Curtis Cox of the Guilderland Police.
