GUILDERLAND — Rhondasia Jackson, 17, stabbed two 15-year-old girls with a knife, police say, after they struggled to get back belongings she had taken from one of them.

The struggle ensued on Saturday, Sept. 29, at about 4:15 p.m. at Crossgates Mall, according to a release from the Guilderland Police.

Randi Smith and her son, Dakota, both pleaded guilty this week for their involvement in an embezzlement scheme, stealing from the New York State Weatherization Directors Association.

Former Guilderland town justice Richard J. Sherwood has agreed to testify against his alleged co-conspirator, Thomas K. Lagan, after the two were arrested for bilking elderly clients out of more than $11 million.

Two men recruited others to cash fake payroll checks for them, raking in over $50,000.

GUILDERLAND — Sara O’Connor Kenney, who also goes by the name Sara Neff, was disbarred on Sept. 9 after a conviction on charges — including aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 16 in the vehicle — that stemmed from her arrest by Guilderland Police in March 2017.

An Albany 16-year-old was charged on Friday with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, for a July incident at the Bethlehem Public Library.

BETHLEHEM — On Monday, Bethlehem Police arrested Gurjinder Singh, 30, of Stratford, New Jersey after extraditing him from New Jersey.

GUILDERLAND — A Clifton Park man was charged under Leandra’s Law by Guilderland Police who were conducting a sweep for drunk drivers.

On Sunday, Aug. 19, at about midnight, police stopped Tracy H. Champ in the area of Western Avenue and Interstate 87, according to a release from Guilderland Police.

GUILDERLAND — The town of Guilderland was the only municipality in the Capital Region to make it onto an annual list, produced by a home-security company, of “50 Safest Cities in New York Report.”

The state’s Department of Motor Vehicles has launched a pilot program to crack down on underage drinking and the use of fake IDs.
