Singh charged with several misdemeanors, and felony grand larceny
BETHLEHEM — On Monday, Bethlehem Police arrested Gurjinder Singh, 30, of Stratford, New Jersey after extraditing him from New Jersey.
Singh, who had worked at the Glenmont Mobil, was originally charged on March 16 by Bethlehem Police for false personation and for unlawfully dealing with a child, after selling alcohol to a minor, at the Mobil.
Singh had given police a fraudulent name when he was arrested. He was released on March 16, after his arraignment, by posting $500 cash bail.
On March 18, Singh became a grand-larceny suspect for stealing several thousand dollars from the Glenmont Mobil. A warrant was issued for his arrest and Bethlehem Police have been working to locate him since then.
In August, Singh was arrested in New Jersey for theft by unlawful taking, and charged as a fugitive from justice by the Burlington County New Jersey Sheriff’s Department.
Singh waived extradition in Burlington County Court in New Jersey and was returned to Bethlehem, by Bethlehem Police.
On Sept. 3, Singh was arraigned before Judge Ryan Donovan in Bethlehem Town Court on misdemeanor charges of a bench warrant for failure to appear on the original charges of unlawfully dealing with a child and false personation; a misdemeanor count of third-degree bail-jumping; and a felony count of fourth-degree grand larceny.
Singh was remanded to Albany County’s jail in lieu of $15,000. He was scheduled to return to Bethlehem Court on Sept. 4.
