On Friday, Oct. 29, the Voorheesville girls volleyball team traveled to Chatham High School to face off against third-seeded Chatham. The Birds played tough but fell in straight sets; 20-25, 10-25, 24-26.

On Thursday, Oct. 21, the Voorheesville girls soccer team took to the pitch to play Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk to play in the first-round of the Section 2, Class B sectionals.

It was Senior Night for the Voorheesville girls’ volleyball team on Oct. 14 as they took on the Mohonasen Warriors.

On Friday, Oct. 1, Voorheesville Blackbirds boys soccer team took on Colonial Council foe Catholic Central at home. From the opening whistle, Voorheesville led till the end and won 10-to-0.

On Thursday, Sept. 30, the Guilderland-Voorheesville girls team swam against Bethlehem at home. The talented Bethlehem swimmers led from start to finish to beat young Guilderville 110.5-to-75.5. The Geese are led by new head coach and former Guilderville alum Sarah Webber.

On Monday, Sept. 27, the Voorheesville Girls tennis team looked to get back to their winning ways as they battled Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk at home. The Birds played in singles competition but took the win in doubles to rally to a 4-to-3 win.

On Sunday morning, September 12, the Voorheesville girls soccer team participated in the NYS Hall of Fame soccer tournament. The Blackbirds faced off against Section 3 Central Valley Academy and fell 2-to-0.

On a bright and sunny Saturday morning, September 11th, Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Guilderland, and Voorheesville cross-country teams took part in the Blackbird Invitational at Swift Town Park in New Scotland. The Voorheesville girls won the Division 2 title, the boys took 12th.

Last Friday, Sept. 10, the Voorheesville Blackbirds opened up their season against Watervliet. The Birds showed the Cannoneers that there’s no quit in this team to tie the game up with under a minute left, but the Cannoneers took control in overtime to win, 28 to 22.

On Thursday September 9, the Voorheesville Blackbirds’ golf team traveled to Schenectady Municipal Golf Course in Schenectady to take on Mohonasen. The inaugural girls’ team won their match, 151-to-165. While the boys came up a few strokes short, 196-to-204.
