“David loved the outdoors,” said his father, Harold Iselin, speaking on Saturday at the dedication of a trail named in honor of his son, David Iselin. It’s the first trail on the 175-acre Bender Melon Farm Preserve in New Scotland.
“The majority of school districts in the capital area, they are not allowing indoor use by outside organizations; they’re not allowing indoor use during high or substantial transmission rates,” Voorheesville Superintendent Frank Macri said on Oct. 4.
For 2022, the town is proposing a tax rate of $1.55 per $1,000 of assessed value for all New Scotland property owners — including those who live in the village of Voorheesville — up from $1.52 per $1,000 of assessed value this year.
Quincie Yamin, the new pastor at the First United Methodist Church of Voorheesville, blesses a dog on Sunday during a pet-blessing ceremony. She graduated this spring from Duke University with a Master of Divinity degree and is married to the church's associate pastor, Mat Yamin. They live in the parsonage next to the church on Maple Avenue in the village.
