Timothy Mundell follows two interim superintendents and will lead a district with new principals in both of its buildings.

A delay in the town's badly needed building projects, though unclear how long, is likely.

For Pollinator Protection Week, Berne-Knox-Westerlo students on June 16 visited the Emma Treadwell Thacher Nature Center to learn about bees. First, state officials — Kathy Moser from the Department of Environmental Conservation, and Tom Alworth, from the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation — talked about the importance of pollinators to New York’s food production, adding $500 million annually to the value of food crops. Then, the kids got down to hands-on learning.

Terrice Bassler, a Berne native who has spent a career working on building education in developing nations across the world, will lead a group to work on the large project for a small town.

I’m so pleased! Arlene’s Artist Materials in Albany has really put together a nice package for our Acrylic Painting class on June 30.

BERNE — Jack McEneny's passion for history and his gift for storytelling are well known. He's had the role of county historian and written a history book on Albany, which was republished in 2006.  Jack knows a thing or two when it comes to the stories of our past.

On Tuesday, June 9, The Old Men of the Mountain met at the Middleburgh Diner in Middleburgh, and did they meet!
