BERNE — Patients in the Hilltowns are wondering where they will go for medical care after learning that a decades-old doctor’s office, now known as CapitalCare Family Medicine Berne, will be closing.

It is almost Memorial Day — the start of summer. Yeah, right! On Tuesday, May 21, the Old Men of the Mountain met at the Middleburgh Diner in Middleburgh.

Dorothy L. Dibble

EAST BERNE — Dorothy L. Dibble, the mother of three sons, died on Friday, May 24, 2019. She was 80.

She was born in Albany on June 5, 1938 to the late Frank and Ella (née Warner) Tallman.

Gregory Bischoff

Gregory Bischoff said he felt a sense of duty to serve as a town judge in Rensselaerville following the death of Judge Ronald Bates. Bischoff had served as town judge before, from 2012 to 2016.

Girl Scouts in Troop 5013 planted wildflowers in two community garden plots at Switzkill Farm on May 17. “We have more available for anyone to use,” said Mark Hohengasser who helped organize the event.

BERNE — In a close race, Berne-Knox-Westerlo School Board President Matthew Tedeschi won another three-year term on the board Tuesday.

The number of employees allowed to work at a home business would increase in both Berne and Knox should proposed amendments pass.

The property at 22 Hammond Road, which a former county legislator wanted to buy for $60,000, was sold for $66,500 to a couple who has lived on adjacent property for years.
