Berne-Knox-Westerlo

On Sunday, Dec. 17, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo indoor track team competed in the Tri-County Indoor Track league 3B at Union College. The boys finished in ninth with 20-points and the girls finished in eighth with 24-points.

Last Wednesday, Dec. 6, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo bowling team hosted Western Athletic Conference foe Schoharie. The Bulldogs swept Schoharie, 4 to 0, 2196 to 2114 in total pins.

On Friday, Oct. 27, the sixth seeded Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls’ volleyball team competed in the Section 2, Class C quarterfinal matchup against third-seeded Maple Hill at Maple Hill High School. The Bulldogs played hard but fell three sets to one; 20-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-15.

On Tuesday evening, Oct. 17, the 17th seeded Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls soccer team opened up the Section 2, Class C sectional play on the road to the 16th seeded Whitehall. A quirky play for the Bulldogs netted the only goal in their 1-0 win. They will play Friday at Waterford at 6 p.m.

Last Friday, Oct. 6, Berne-Knox-Westerlo hosted their eighth annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

The combined team of Berne-Knox-Westerlo and Duanesburg, known as Helderberg Valley, took on the Canajoharie/Fort Plain Cougars at Canajoharie High School on Sept. 29. The Cougars ran out to a huge lead and Helderberg Valley couldn’t rally, losing 53 to 13.

Last Thursday, Sept. 28, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo volleyball team hosted Western Athletic Conference foe Duanesburg. The Bulldogs battled hard in two of the three sets as they swept the Eagles in three sets; 25-14, 25-9, 25-22.

On Monday, Sept. 11, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg boys’ soccer team hosted Galway in a Western Athletic Conference matchup. During the first half, there was a brief downpour but that didn’t stop the Beagles. They won, 5 to 1.

On Saturday, Sept. 2, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls’ soccer team traveled to Middleburgh High School to compete in the finals of the Middleburgh kickoff tournament against Schoharie. The Bulldogs fell, 1-1 (4 to 2 on penalty kicks), after regulation.

On Monday afternoon, Aug. 28, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo boys’ golf team opened their season at Hillcrest Golf Course as they took on Duanesburg. The young Bulldogs lost 11 to 4.
