On Friday, Dec. 27, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls hosted their Holiday Tournament at home this past weekend. The Bulldogs played against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk in the only matchup of the night due to teams pulling out. BKW started slow then used its defense to pull away in its 65-to-40 win.

On Saturday, Dec. 21, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo-Middleburgh wrestling team traveled to Hudson Falls High School to battle on the mat in the Thomas Chickanis tournament against 14 other schools.

Last Wednesday, Dec. 18, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo bowling squad hosted the Johnstown Sir Bills at Town n’ Country for their last match of the calendar year. The pins weren’t cooperating with the Bulldogs as they fell, 4 to 0 (3160-2004 in total pins).

Last Wednesday, Dec. 4, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo boys basketball team hosted the season and home-opener against Johnstown. In particular, Bulldogs’ Dayne Coates was 16 points away from joining the rare 1,000-point club.

On Monday, Oct. 28, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg Beagles made their way up to Bolton High School for their Section 2, Class C quarterfinal matchup against Bolton-Warrensburg.

On Saturday, Oct. 5, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg girls’ soccer team, the Beagles, traveled to face off against the Hoosick Falls Panthers at the George Helft Soccer Complex. The teams battled hard for 80 minutes but the Beagles allowed a late goal and fell 2-1.

Last Thursday, Oct. 3, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo volleyball team traveled to Schoharie High School to take on the Storm. The Bulldogs battled but fell in straight sets (21-25, 17-25, 19-25).

On Friday, Sept. 20, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg boys’ soccer team had a battle on their hands full against the Wolves of Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville. The Beagles finally broke the scoreless tie in the second half to win 1-0.

On a fall Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 17, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo boys golf team took on Middleburgh at Cobleskill Country Club. The team won 198-231 and 13.5 to 1.5.

On Saturday, Sept. 14, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo cross-country team competed in the pre-state Queensbury Invitational on a hot and humid day. The Bulldogs competed in division four and the boys finished in 20th with 511 points while girls finished 19th with 458 points.
