To the Editor:

I want to thank [Enterprise Hilltown reporter] Marcello Iaia for writing the nice article about the thrift shop that has opened at the Helderberg Evangelical Lutheran Church in Berne.  We were pleasantly surprised how many new people we had visit the shop this past Saturday because of the article.

To the Editor:

This is for everybody in New York State, but mostly for people in the Hilltowns above Albany.

I vote but am lax on town board meetings and school board meeting that impact my life and ours. We can sit back and let others dictate to us or we can get involved.

To the Editor:

It’s time for a reality check for the Berne Town Board.

I would like to comment on the Altamont Enterprise article that appeared in the Sept. 18, 2014 edition, “Buddhist retreat center and hilltop views sold to Berne.”

To the Editor:

Have you driven by the Saddlemire Homestead on Route 156 in Knox lately? The overgrown shrubbery and dead tree have been removed. The house’s peeling patches are gone, and its new coat of white paint dazzles in the autumn sunlight.

No other soccer team in Section 2 has allowed fewer goals — three — than the Berne-Knox-Westero Bulldogs. The team is comfortably in first place.

To the Editor:

Thank you, Altamont Enterprise, for printing the picture of Bill VanAlstyne and related information regarding child safety seats on page 25 “Safety First” in the Oct. 2, 2014 edition.

To the Editor:

To the Editor:

I am writing in response to Mr. Mario Serfilippi’s letter to the editor in the Sept. 25, 2014 edition.

To the Editor:

We, the Berne Town Board, would like to address some misperceptions and misunderstandings stated by a Knox resident in a letter to the editor of Sept. 25, 2014.

To the Editor:

Thank you for putting my garage sale ad “to benefit the Berne Library” in the Garage Sale secion and the Community Events calendar.

Also, thank you to Judy Petrosillo for putting a notice in her column on the Berne Library.
