Guilderland

The Guilderland Senior Services is offering the following activities the week of Jan. 27. Call the senior office at 518-280-7607 with any questions or for information.

The Capital District Farm to Fork Local Food Expo was held Wednesday at Guilderland High School. About 40 buyers were on hand to taste local products at the free event.

A new musical, written by a local playwright and performed by local actors, is meant to help people who are struggling.

Glacier

As scientists study a glacier many see as a keystone to the crumbling of glaciers in the Antarctic, teacher Sarah Slack will be on board, dispatching her observations so others can learn from the expedition.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has estimated the cost of remediating the brownfield site at more than $2.4 million.

For years, Alice Corcoran would not only open her Guilderland home to classes of young students that would visit from nearby Lynnwood Elementary School, but she would also give every student a teddy bear she knitted herself.

GUILDERLAND — Garry Robinson wants a bigger parking lot for his Ace hardware store at 1874 Western Ave. He plans to tear down the building next door that has been, over the years, an auto-parts shop, a jewelry store, a bicycle store, and a Dairy Queen.
