Dirt bikes collide, one driver dies

GUILDERLAND — At about midnight on Friday, Sept. 4, two dirt bikes collided, causing serious injuries to both 21-year-old drivers.

On Sunday afternoon, Guilderland Police reported that one of the drivers died: Jonwilliam “Jon” P. Foreman of Loudonville.

The other driver, Austin Wolcott, from Colonie, remains hospitalized, the police notice said.

The collision, according to an earlier release from the Guilderland Police, took place on Stone Road by the intersection of Ostrander Road in Guilderland Center. The police officers who arrived on the scene began cardiopulmonary resuscitation on one of the victims.

Both of the victims were then treated at the scene by Guilderland Emergency Medical Services and transported to Albany Medical Center.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
