GUILDERLAND — Astral Journeys Center, a new business at 1811 Western Ave. in Guilderland, is owned by Christine Seebold, who has been a medium, she says, since she was 2.

“I would predict things and they would come true,” she said.

The Guilderland Dutchmen bowling team, after winning back-to-back sectional titles, traveled to Syracuse on Sunday morning for the state competition. The six athletes bowled six games as a five-person team, participated in the boys’ Division 1.

Standing six rows deep, most of the students at Guilderland High School took part in Wednesday’s national walkout, exactly one month after the Valentine’s Day shooting in Parkland, Florida. 

Hurst Road is a secluded, two-lane, mostly rural byway that links Altamont to Guilderland Center.

GUILDERLAND — Town highway Superintendent Steve Oliver said on Monday that he plans to retire soon. “I’ve been doing this a long time,” he said. “It’s time to go out and start exploring on my motorcycle a little more and spending a little more time with the grandkids, while I’ve still got my health.”

Four posts are open on Guilderland’s board of education, and almost all members who are up for re-election are unsure if they will run.

Sanari Ismail of Farnsworth Middle School thinks that students should be able to feel safe at school. The national walkout was set to be exactly one month from the date of the Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where 17 people died.

Elementary student Riley Better has a key part in “The Music Man” and, says the show’s director, he is “a model for the high school kids; he’s in it to work.”
