Two boys pour ingredients into a bowl

For some of the kids from Albany’s South End Café, their trip next week to the Altamont Fair will be the first time they have seen a cow, or horse, or goat, or sheep.

GUILDERLAND — After a car chase followed by a chase on foot, New York State Troopers arrested three young men in the early-morning hours of Sunday, July 28.

A release from the state police says events unfolded this way:

On Saturday, the 10th annual Pet Connection Adoption day sponsored by WTEN's Pet Connection and the Animal Hospital.

We encourage our local school districts, all of them, to make black history an integral part of social studies curricula as well as lessons taught in other subjects.

The Guilderland school district has just begun to work with a black consultant about how to increase its racial and cultural diversity and inclusion. Some African-American parents think it has a long way to go.

Jeffrey Moller, Altamont’s Superintendent of Public Works, said the need to use chemicals to kill weeds along parts of Main Street and Maple Avenue was necessary because milder options had failed. 

ALBANY COUNTY — David and Kelly Lendrum are the only Albany County farmers to have received funds in the latest round of grants from the state’s New Farmers Grant Fund, which assists new and early-stage farmers.

GUILDERLAND — This summer, the Guilderland Food Pantry’s shelves are extremely low, according to Community Caregivers, which has planned a food drive to help support the pantry.
