Bliss to expand marketing at Bishop Maginn

- Rebecca Bliss

GUILDERLAND — Rebecca Bliss of Guilderland has been appointed the new director of development for Bishop Maginn High School in Albany.

A native of Niskayuna, Bliss has worked with not-for-profit organizations for several years and has written many successful grants, managed fundraising campaigns, organized events, and handled marketing and public relations. She earned an undergraduate degree in journalism from the State University of New York at New Paltz and a master’s degree in public administration from Binghamton University.

As director of development, Bliss will build and execute the school’s fundraising plan,  focusing on gaining financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations. She will also organize special events, work to increase alumni engagement, and expand the school’s marketing and public-relations efforts.

She and her husband recently moved to the area for his work and to be closer to family, Bliss said. They chose Guilderland, she said, because of its central location to their work, its school system, and the beauty of the area.
