Historic Altamont Inc. has made several unsuccessful attempts to save the Doctor Crounse House. Now it has gotten a previous prospective buyer to make another bid, provided the house’s owners, the town of Guilderland and village of Altamont, take out a loan to rid the house of asbestos.

The chairwoman of Guilderhaven, who usually hopes people will adopt animals and make them a part of their homes, now hopes they will adopt artwork.

GUILDERLAND — Wind, fog, vibration, motion-synchronized seats, and even scents are coming to Crossgates Mall theaters.

GUILDERLAND — Macy’s Backstage, which features bargains, will open at Crossgates Mall on Saturday, Aug. 10.

The new store, with about 14,500 square feet of retail space, will be located on the first level of the full-line Macy’s at Crossgates.

The new president of the Guilderland School Board “totally” wants the community to discuss  whether the district is doing enough to reflect the diversity of students in its faculty and curriculum. The new vice president says the district is already “very proactive in dealing with issues related to race, gender, and diversity.”

Wayne Robert Lennebacker

ALTAMONT — Wayne Robert Lennebacker, a photographer and teacher of photography, died on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital. He was 78.

Troy Miller of CM Fox plans to open his first golf-simulator business in Guilderland in September and to duplicate the model elsewhere in the area in the next couple of years. 

Data will then be used to calculate the cumulative impact on traffic patterns and sewer infrastructure.

GUILDERLAND — Courtney Miedema, co-owner of Cryo Lodge, a new business in Guilderland, said this week that she became convinced of the therapy’s benefits through her own experience as a serious runner.
