On Wednesday, June 1, as the Guilderland boys’ lacrosse team looked to win back-to-back Class A sectional titles, they had to go against top-seeded Shenendehowa. Guilderland started off slow, endured a passing downpour, rallied, and fell short with a 15-to-9 loss.

On Friday afternoon, May 27, the Guilderland Dutchmen lacrosse team hosted a Section 2, Class A semifinal matchup against Shaker. Shaker held a lead until the fourth quarter and the Dutch came back to win 10 to 9.

On Wednesday, May 25, the Guilderland Dutchmen track team took part in the Section 2, Group 1 sectional championships held at Colonie High School. The girls’ team finished second with 149 points and the boys’ in ninth with 18 points.

On Monday, May 23, Guilderland’s Mahen Bitkuri competed in the Section 2 individual championships at Central Park tennis courts in the finals. Bitkuri fell in straight sets; 0-6, 3-6, to Albany Academy’s Krishnadev Jammula but Bitkuri has qualified to June 2-4 NYSPHSAA state championships.

On Friday, May 20, the second seeded Guilderland Dutchmen baseball team opened the Section 2, Class AA sectionals at home against seventh seeded Saratoga Blue Streaks. Saratoga pitching held the Dutch to five hits and beat the Dutch 2 to 0.

On Thursday, May 12, the Guilderland Unified basketball team hosted Schenectady. The teams went back and forth till the fourth quarter, when the Dutch pulled away to win, 36 to 29.

The Guilderland girls’ lacrosse team hosted the Suburban Council foe Columbia on May 10. In the first half, the Dutch and Blue Devils traded goals. Once the Dutch came out of halftime, their defense stiffened  and they won 12 to 4.

On Monday, May 9, the Guilderland softball team visited Columbia to take on the Blue Devils. The Dutch led but had to battle back, which ended one run short, losing 4 to 3.

On Saturday, Apr. 30, the Guilderland Dutchmen participated in the Anthony Luciano Memorial Invitational at Hudson Falls High School. Guilderland girls won the event with 215.50 points and the boys came in second with 89.

The Guilderland boys’ tennis team took to their home court to take on Christian Brothers Academy on April 22. Guilderland had an easy time and won 9-0.
