With COVID protocol still going on within the schools, Section 2 track n’ field sectionals were held in groups, based on school size, this past week at different schools.

The Guilderland Dutchmen baseball team travelled to Christian Brothers Academy on Saturday, June 5th, for a Suburban Council matchup in the season finale in preparation for sectionals this week.

On Thursday, June 3rd, the Guilderland Dutchmen boys tennis team battled Shenendehowa at home in the regular season finale to determine position for the upcoming team sectional championships. The Dutch lost 9-0 then battled Shaker in sectionals and fell 6-3.

Tuesday afternoon on May 25, the Guilderland Dutchmen Unified team took to the court against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at home. The Guilderland pep band was on hand to bring smiles to the kids. The Dutch led from start to finish and beat the Spartans, 45-to-35.

Last Thursday, May 20, the Guilderland Dutchmen girls lacrosse team faced off against Colonie on the field but the Dutch’s mind was also thinking of their fellow teammate Jenna Meier who's battling Ewing’s Sarcoma.

On Saturday, May 22, Guilderland softball squared off against Suburban Council foe in Shaker at home. Guilderland led from the first-inning and had to have some insurance runs late as Shaker attempted a rally in the top of the seventh. Guilderland won 11-to-9.

The Guilderland Dutchmen track n’ field team had their first home meet on Friday, May 7th. After coming off a big win against Saratoga girls on Wednesday, the girls team didn’t take their foot off the gas against Niskayuna and won easily, 128.50-to-47.50.

The Guilderland Dutchmen boys lacrosse team kicked off their 2021 spring season on Tuesday, May 4 after missing all of 2020 due to COVID shutting down the schools. The game was close at the half till the Spartans made changes to beat the Dutch 12 to 7.

Thirty of the top Guilderland Athletes signed their college letters of intent on Monday, to play for their respective colleges come fall. Family members joined and a handful of their coaches watched as they signed at the high school in Guilderland Center.

On Friday, April 30, the Guilderland Dutchmen football team took on a usual foe in the Class AA playoffs: Shaker. The game lived up to the hype, with both teams the number one seeds in their respective divisions.
