Guilderland High School

Last Wednesday, April 5, the Guilderland Dutchmen hosted their home opener against the Colonie Raiders. Guilderland fell behind early but came back from four-runs down to tie it late. Guilderland lost in nine innings, 13 to 11.

On Monday afternoon, Apr. 3, the Guilderland boys’ tennis team traveled to Bethlehem High School to take on the Eagles in their first regular-season matchup of the spring tennis season. The Dutch fell 9 to 0.

Last Friday evening, March 31, the Guilderland Dutchmen and Voorheesville Blackbirds faced off at Guilderland High School in a non-league matchup. Guilderland’s high powered offense didn’t allow Voorheesville much opportunity as Guilderland won, 18 to 4.

Last Thursday, Mar. 30, the Guilderland girls’ lacrosse team hosted the Kingston Tigers in a home opener at home. Guilderland fell behind and attempted to try to score the tying goal late but fell, 7 to 6.

On Saturday, March 4, the Guilderland indoor track team competed in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s indoor track championships held at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

On March 3 and 4, the Guilderville boys’ swim team took on 433 state-wide swimmers at Ithaca College for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association swimming championships.

On Saturday, Feb. 25, the Guilderland Competitive cheer team went to the Section 2 championships at Colonie High School in an effort to move onto the New York State Public High School Athletic Association competition in Binghamton on March 4.

On Thursday, Feb. 23, the Guilderland girls’ basketball team traveled to Albany High School to take on the top-seeded Falcons in the Section 2, Class AA quarterfinals. Guilderland stayed close but the Falcons’ height and speed in the fourth wore the Dutch down and they fell, 66 to 37.

On Monday, Feb. 20, the Storm hockey team kicked off their Section 2 ice hockey championships as the 10 seed as they took on the LaSalle Cadets, the seven seed. It was choppy throughout the game and the Storm fell, 6 to 1.

On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17 and 18, the Guilderville boys’ swim team competed in the Section 2 swimming championships at Shenendehowa High School. The team finished fifth overall with 253.5 points and qualified three individual swimmers and two relay teams for states.
