On Saturday, Nov. 9, the Guilderland, Voorheesville, and Berne-Knox-Westerlo cross-country teams competed in the Section 2 championships at Queensbury High School, the site for the state competition.
On Saturday, Nov. 11, Guilderland, Berne-Knox-Westerlo, and Voorheesville cross-country runners competed against the top runners in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association competition at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School in Verona.
The Guilderland cross-country team competed against some of the best schools in New York at the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Invitational on Sept. 16. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams won the title in their division, and Guilderland’s junior varsity swept as well.
On a cold and windy Saturday, Nov. 12, at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School, select members of the Guilderland girls’ and Voorheesville boys’ cross-country teams competed while the whole Voorheesville girls’ team took part in the NYSPHSAA meet.
On Saturday, Sept. 10, Voorheesville held their Blackbirds Invitational at Swift Town Park, with 23 schools battling it out in two divisions. Guilderland finished second for the boys and third for the girls.
On Friday, Nov. 5, Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Middleburgh, Guilderland and Voorheesville cross-country teams competed in the Section 2 cross-country championships at Saratoga State Park. Voorheesville girls won Class C with 29 points while the boys finished fourth with 146.
Saturday morning, Guilderland Cross-Country hosted their final meet at Tawasentha Park against Niskayuna. On the cold and chilly morning, the Dutch lost on both the girls' 24 to 31 and Boys' 22 to 37.
On Sunday afternoon, the Guilderland boys' and girls' cross-country teams opened against Saratoga at Saratoga State Park where the Dutch wore their masks.
The Guilderland Flying Dutchmen cross-country teams, both male and female, lived up to their name, using speed and endurance in the 48th annual Guilderland Invitational at Tawasentha Park on Saturday morning. Flying, indeed.
