Photos: Guilderland Cross-Country doesn't let the cold stop them

Saturday morning, Guilderland Cross-Country hosted their final meet at Tawasentha Park against Niskayuna. On the cold and chilly morning, the Dutch lost on both the girls' 24 to 31 and Boys' 22 to 37.

Dutch flood the course: Guilderland’s Alex Vellekoop, Kate Scanlan, Nicole Czaban, and Caroline Burns lead their teammates including the junior-varsity team. They ran Saturday at Tawasentha Park — the last meet before next weekend’s championships. The girls lost to Niskayuna, 24 to 31.

Running together: Guilderland’s Finn Burke and Maxwell Wang get close to the finish in the boys’ race at Tawasentha Park on Saturday morning. Burke finished third overall with a time of 16:29 and Maxwell finished fourth with a time of 16:31. The boys’ overall lost to Niskayuna, 22 to 37.

Chilly run: Guilderland’s Robert Cusato runs down the final stretch of the 2.86-mile course at Tawasentha Park on Saturday morning. Cusato finished 11th with a time of 18:25.

Where’s the foliage? Guilderland’s Alex Vellakoop finishes the final stretch as leaves line the course at Tawasentha Park. Vellakoop was the top Guilderland runner in Saturday’s meet against Niskayuna, finishing third overall with a time of 19:15.
