Maeweather is the 20-year-old Albany man accused of shutting down Crossgates Mall by firing a gun inside the mall on Nov. 12. He was indicted by a grand jury on four felony charges and pleaded “not guilty” to all charges on Monday before Judge Roger D. McDonough in Albany County Supreme Court.
GUILDERLAND — At 5 Wits, a new business that opened recently at Crossgates Mall, visitors act as action heroes in one of three immersive, hands-on adventures, with the visitors controlling how the story ends.
“This was an isolated incident,” Guilderland Police Chief Carol Lawlor said at a Sunday press conference. “This was an argument between two individuals and there was a shot fired.” Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots.
Guilderland Police responded to Crossgates Mall on Oct. 12 for a report of a shoplifter at the Hollister store, and wound up stopping an assault on four Hollister security officers.
