Police call the girl who says she was sexually assaulted “very credible,” but the arrested man’s father has been loudly and publicly defending his son, identifying the girl by name, calling her crazy, and saying her story is not true.

Four local YMCAs have been experiencing break-ins in lockers, including 10 people who have had items stolen since the beginning of the year at the Bethlehem Y.

Jury trials for DWI are not rare in Guilderland, according to Clerk to the Justices Jennifer Stephens.

According to his arrest records, it’s not the first time that Sand has sped up when police have tried to pull him over.

EAST BERNE — A daytime burglary at a home in East Berne may have been due to its seclusion.

Paul Mackey, 34, of Schenectady was sentenced on March 23 to two to four years in state prison for fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. The sentence was handed down in Albany County Supreme Court by Judge Thomas A. Breslin.

GUILDERLAND — A Guilderland man is accused of masturbating in view of a woman and her young daughter who were parked by a railroad crossing to watch the trains.

Travis Ostroff, 36, of 247 Route 146, was arrested Friday, March 24, for public lewdness, a misdemeanor, according to a release from the Guilderland Police.

ALBANY — Bail was set at $20,000 Friday morning for Justin Hope, the Guilderland man charged with bringing to his apartment and sexually abusing a resident of Vanderheyden Hall in Rensselaer County, where he had worked.

The man accused of sexually abusing a Vanderheyden Hall resident, who had a disability and who was in his care, received a college scholarship awarded to those with “a reputation for honesty, integrity and community service.”
