BETHLEHEM — Michael Rozell, 37, of Delmar was sentenced on Tuesday to six years in state prison, to be followed by five years of probation.

On Aug. 1, Rozell pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted burglary, a felony.

He was sentenced on Tuesday by Judge William A. Carter in Albany County Court.

BETHLEHEM — On Tuesday, Aug. 29, Bethlehem Police arrested an Albany man on an outstanding federal arrest warrant after a traffic stop.

At 9:46 p.m., Bethlehem Police stopped a Nissan Altima on Route 9W and Corning Hill Road for failing to dim its high beams, according to a release from the department.

Working together, Albany and Bethlehem police cracked a counterfeit case where fake 100-dollar bills were passed at a Delmar drugstore, said Commander Adam N. Hornick, spokesman for the Bethlehem Police. He called it an example of successful cooperation between law-enforcement agencies.

Luck also played into it, he said.

The two former University at Albany students got six years’ probation each, on misdemeanor charges. They also will need to register as sex offenders, and they were dismissed from the university.

GUILDERLAND — On Friday, Aug. 18, at about 11:47 p.m., Denise C. Johnsen of 60 Pheasant Run in Voorheesville crashed her vehicle in the area of 927 Altamont-Voorheesville Road, said Guilderland Deputy Police Chief Curtis Cox this week. A portion of the road was closed until about 10 a.m. the next day.

Guilderland Police say that Patricia Dudley, 61, of Guilderland was trying to hurt her husband when she drove, with him in the car with her, into a telephone pole on Carman Road. After she hit the pole, she kept going, turning onto several residential streets, where she ran over a stop sign and onto a front lawn, nearly hitting a house, say police.

Guilderland Police arrested Liu Apring and Guiping Zhang on Friday for performing massage without a license at the Chinese Wellness Center, a felony, at 1871 Western Ave. in Guilderland. Three women were arrested in a similar Guilderland case at a different massage parlor on Western Avenue just under a year ago.

A New Scotland teen was arrested for assaulting her uncle with a candlestick at her residence at a former New Scotland convent turned church and apartment complex.

GUILDERLAND — A Schenectady grandmother was charged on Saturday, Aug. 12, under Leandra’s Law.
