GUILDERLAND — Jeffrey Mark Cascini, 40, of 1026 O’Brien Ave., Schenectady, was arrested on Mar. 11 by Guilderland Police for attempted burglary and felony DWI, driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol.  

Local residents Joshua Spratt and Martin Zaloga — both former police officers — were sentenced on Jan. 7 in Albany County Supreme Court for separate cases of inappropriate contact with a minor.

ALBANY COUNTY — Graham Gardineer, 41, of Guilderland, was sentenced on Jan. 8 by Judge Stephen W.

BERNE — John Morwin, 42, of Schenectady, was sentenced on Nov. 10 in Berne Town Court to 30 days in jail and three years of probation for first-offense driving while intoxicated, according to a release by the Albany County District Attorney’s office.

ALTAMONT — The arrest of a village resident for stealing 200 pounds of meat from the Altamont fairgrounds is pending results of a fingerprint comparison, Altamont Police said this week.

BERNE — Timothy M. David was arrested this month for a rape police say happened the week of the Altamont Fair in August.

David, 25, of 1721 Helderberg Trail, was charged with third-degree rape, a felony, and with sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.

GUILDERLAND — Police in Mississippi and Texas have been as stymied as police here in solving brutal murders of Chinese families.

The houses at 1848 and 1846 Western Avenue, where a family was murdered inside one year ago, are up for sale after being bought and renovated by three investors, including Flerida Santana Johnas.

While the officers were speaking to Franz, a quantity of cocaine, packaged for distribution, was observed in plain view by the driver’s side seat.

GUILDERLAND — A Queensbury man with business dealings in Guilderland was arrested last week for allegedly stealing over $1 million from investors.
