The Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs had a chance to even the score with Mekeel Christian Academy last Friday after the Bulldogs’ sectional semifinal loss to the Mekeel Lions last year. The teams were evenly matched; the first four minutes, no one scored.

The Guilderland Dutchmen and the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs boys’ basketball teams played in holidays tournaments during the school break last week.

For the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs, Saturday was a first. The school had never before fielded an indoor track team and this was the team’s first meet.

The Berne-Knox-Westerlo boys' soccer team was on a high after upsetting #3 seed Galway last Friday but then had a tough time in the semifinals against Maple Hill on Wednesday.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo held their 2017 Hall of Fame ceremony at the school last Friday evening.

Volleyball teams for Guilderland boys, with a 2-6 record, and Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls, at 5-5, might be having rough seasons but they still play hard on the court as they push towards sectionals. This past week, both teams were victorious.

Senior leadership helped teams from Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Guilderland, and Voorheesville this year. Some seniors led their teams to deep sectional runs or even to victory in sectional championships.

Although graduation is not until Saturday, many goodbyes were said at Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s campus on Monday night. 

Thacher Park in Voorheesville was the host site for the 3rd annual Kenneth Ride on Saturday morning to remember a five-year-old little boy who was murdered in efforts to keep his memory alive and to raise money for a BKW student who will be majoring in the field of Social Services.

On a chilly and windy last Thursday, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs baseball team took on Fonda-Fultonville at home in a Western Athletic Conference battle. The Bulldogs had a lead going into the fifth inning, which saw the Braves come all the way back and win, 11 to 10.
