The Westerlo Town Board voted unanimously to ask New York state to install a traffic light at the intersection of county routes 401 and 404, following a fatal car accident there late last month.

BERNE — A Berne resident called 9-1-1 Wednesday morning after seeing an upside-down plane in a field behind his house on the Berne-Altamont Road, according to State Police who determined the plane’s pilot, its only occupant, was unharmed.
