Marymichael D’Ark was the top vote-getter with just over 47 percent.

Hall, who has worked as a small-business owner and farmer, told The Enterprise, “The primary issue in Westerlo is the lack of open discussion and transparency from the board. Each member of the board should be making independent decisions in front of the public. Decisions seem to be made in advance and the majority always votes together.”

Delaney, currently the town clerk, will be Knox’s first female supervisor after three women previously failed to win the post.

Democrats will dominate on the board after several years of Republican rule that brought government to a halt last year when three GOP-backed councilmen abruptly quit.

The increase, Giebelhaus says, is to eliminate an average deficit spending of 30 percent from 2021 to 2023.

RENSSELAERVILLE — A Rensselaer man was charged on Monday with reckless endangerment and five counts of endangering the welfare of a child after, police say, he hit a school bus.

The total tax levy — which includes the town’s special districts — is projected to increase slightly, from about $627,500 to $633,800, while the townwide tax paying into Knox’s general and highway funds, stays the same at $266,525.

RENSSELAERVILLE — Billed as an “unprecedented investment,” the governor on Wednesday announced that the state’s transportation department will spend more than $600 million in over 180 paving projects across New York during the 2026 construction season.

Over 100 Hilltowners marched from the town park in Rensselaerville to the firehouse on Saturday, Oct. 18, part of the national No Kings movement. “Symbollic of our battle — uphill all the way,” said Jim Kaufman as he and the others navigated the centuries-old Helderberg bluestone sidewalk.

School district residents will vote on the proposal on Monday, Nov. 10, from 7 a.m to 9 p.m., at the elementary school cafeteria.
