Voorheesville’s cross-country team hosted its annual Blackbird Invitational on Saturday morning at the Stephen P. Wallace Park on Swift Road. This year, the invitational had a record 32 teams competing in the two division races. Voorheesville and Berne-Knox-Westerlo competed in Division 2.

NEW SCOTLAND — The New Scotland Presbyterian Church at 2010 New Scotland Road is holding a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 4 p.m. Light refreshments will follow.

A Voorheesville student who is earning his Eagle Scout badge built a train-viewing station was unveiled by Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy on Wednesday afternoon in Voorheesville at the Rail Trail.

VOORHEESVILLE — The two women who keep Voorheesville running like a well-oiled machine, received the bureaucratic equivalent of rave reviews for their handling of the village’s billing, collection, and enforcement of water and sewer charges, according to a recently released state audit.

In nearly two decades of existence, the Voorheesville Community and School Foundation has given away over $200,000 to help fund local projects. Between Sept. 3 and Oct. 1, the group will be accepting applications for its latest initiative, the “Big Ideas” competition.

It was the second leg of the Hilltown triple crown on Saturday August 17 at Clayton A. Bouton high school for the Voorheesville 5K.

At the monthly meeting of the Voorheesville School Board, teachers and residents aired grievances over issues of transparency, communication, and planning. The district’s students were again recognized for their work in the classroom. 

Annual Heritage Day in Clarksville on August 3. The annual event is sponsored by the Clarksville Historical Society and the Clarksville Community Church.
