Voorheesville Family Bicycling Day was held on a showery Sunday afternoon.

Quincie Yamin, the new pastor at the First United Methodist Church of Voorheesville, blesses a dog on Sunday during a pet-blessing ceremony. She graduated this spring from Duke University with a Master of Divinity degree and is married to the church's associate pastor, Mat Yamin. They live in the parsonage next to the church on Maple Avenue in the village.

The village of Voorheesville and the Altamont Free Library wrote letters over the summer to the Surface Transportation Board, the federal agency charged with economic oversight of the nation’s major freight carriers, about CSX’s attempt to acquire a Massachusetts-based regional rail company. This week, CSX responded to concerns brought up by the village and library.

 The New Scotland Town Board has formalized its relationship with Nan Stolzenburg and her firm, agreeing to an annual contract with Community Planning & Environmental Associates not to exceed $60,000.
