Recent testing showed the nitrate level in the Clarksville Water District supply had dropped from 11.3 milligrams per liter in late November to about 5.4 milligrams per liter on Dec. 30.

“We’re certainly not going to miss a beat here, by doing what we did,” Supervisor Douglas LaGrange said of naming new planning and zoning board chairs. “And that was another important thing: To keep the consistency through projects and through different things that were before each of the boards.”

A 2020 study conducted by the Brookings Institution estimates that more than 280,000 creative industry jobs and $26.8 billion in sales have been lost in New York, second behind California, which leads the nation in estimated job loss.

The property at 42 South Main St. in the village has been bought, along with surrounding properties, by various limited-liability companies associated with Ed Mitzen.

The JJ Cillis Group is looking to build a 10-home development on 18.5 acres of land near the intersection of Crow Ridge Road and Route 85A.
