NEW SCOTLAND — Beginning on Sept. 16, the Voorheesville Methodist Church, at 38 Maple Ave.) is once again providing take-out meals on Mondays.

On Sept. 16, the menu consists of baked lasagna with a green salad, crusty bread, and dessert.

NEW SCOTLAND — The First United Methodist Church of Voorheesville is starting its Free Community Lunch Program again this fall, the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.

The first lunch will be on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from noon to 1 p.m., eat-in only.

NEW SCOTLAND — On Sept. 15, the First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Charlie Yang, will host Back to Church Sunday with worship and Sunday school both starting at 10 a.m.

A potluck lunch and barbecue will be held after the service. There will also be children’s activities.

In response to last week’s Enterprise article about the Voorheesville Area Ambulance Service, I have a few thoughts.

Every dog has its day and a groomer with three decades of experience is prepared to help pets look their best.

After the Battle of Gettysburg, July 1-3, 1863, an unidentified, dead Union soldier was found with an ambrotype photograph in his hands, with the images of three young children.  This image was the last image he saw before he died of his wounds.

The Voorheesville board said it wants firefighters providing EMS services, learned of fewer Claremont II water taps, and discussed gating for the railroad crossing.

Patrick Corrigan, as high school principal, will do extra duty as his old post, associate principal, has been cut.
