“Hops in New York State: A Brief History of the New York State Hop Industry and Where We Stand Today” will be the program at the New Scotland Historical Association on Tuesday, April 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Wyman Osterhout Community Center in New Salem. 

VOORHEESVILLE — The three unopposed village officials retained their seats in the election Tuesday thanks to a paltry 46 voters.

The village has 2,789 residents, according to the 2010 federal census.

“Obviously, it was a quiet night in Voorheesville,” said Village Clerk-Treasurer Linda Pasquali.

"The working poor and elderly just can't make their bills," says the chairman of the food pantry, which is reaching out for more volunteers, more food and donations — and more clients.

The Voorheesville Central School District proposed almost $420,000 in cuts for its $22.5M budget.

VOORHEESVILLE — Sheila C. Reilly was never one to sit it out when things got tough. She always stayed active despite complications later in life from having polio as a child.
On Tuesday, March 11, 2014, she died at the age of 70.
